→How To Love?❤

Weezy F. Baby, Dwayne Carter, or what most people know him as Lil Wayne is arguably one of the most popular rappers of the last decade. The rapper has been on the music scene since the late 90’s. He had dubbed himself as the greatest rapper alive, and many others agree.

His latest single “How to Love”, from  "Tha Carter IV", is different from anything the rapper has done before. The song has such a soft a sweet melody, that it could be qualified as an R&B track. In the track Wayne uses a mix of singing and rapping. The song focuses on a girl who has issues with love and insecurity. A topic most rappers would shy away from. Lil Wayne is known for having a different style and experimenting with different genres of music, but this track pushes the limit.

Critics and fans alike don’t really know how to react to this unexpected track. The blogs are exploding with comments; so far I have seen an even split. Although the track is soft, it evokes a strong response. Those who want to see their rappers sticking to the conventional style of hip-hop seem to dislike the song, but others embrace the change and think the song is a hit.

The risky track could be a big success or the track could be a flop, but is the risk worth the possible outcome? I think so; I believe that sticking to the conventional style of hip-hop is a recipe for disaster. Artists that switch up their style and reinvent themselves are the ones who have longevity in the music industry. Either way, Lil Wayne has done a great job generating a buzz with this single. Take a listen for yourself and decide.

  1. I am a huge Lil Wayne fan, but I really don't know if this song really works for him. I mean, it is not horrible, but it is definitely something that I will have to get used to. Have you listened to the whole album yet? I wonder if there are more songs on it that are similiar to this one...

  2. Actually the album isn't going to be released until June 21st. The song isn't one of my favorites from him either. I'm not really a fan of it, but i do believe that it will sell, due to the fact that it is very different and that itself will generate a buzz around the song. I'm a fan of Wayne too, but i think he will have trouble selling as much as he used too, because this song is the third single from an album that isn't even released yet.
